Kent Slater joined Spesia, Ayers & Ardaugh in 2007 after having served for 16 years as a judge on the Illinois Appellate Court in Ottawa. Mr. Slater previously served two terms as a member of the House of Representatives in the Illinois General Assembly (1985-1988) and was a Circuit Court Judge for the Ninth Judicial Circuit of Illinois (1988-1990). His knowledge of the appellate process adds to the firm’s outstanding litigation team. Prior to his election as judge, he was a partner in the firm of Lucie, Heiser & Slater in Macomb, Illinois.
